Gopher Game Day Information – Spring 2021 Game Information

Together, we can all help stop the spread of COVID-19. Those who fail to adhere to the protocols below will have their tickets canceled and may not be able to attend future events.

Before your arrival

You must follow all building and University of Minnesota policies, including health and safety policies, and instructions posted on the University’s site and campus.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to serious illnesses and health problems. Seniors and those with underlying health conditions are particularly vulnerable, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

By entering TCF Bank Stadium, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with exposure to COVID-19.

Fans should stay at home and not to attend this match if they have any of the following symptoms: fever or chills; mild or moderate breathing difficulty; new or worsening cough; sustained loss of smell, taste or appetite; sore throat; vomiting or diarrhea; aches.

Additionally, if you have been in close contact with someone known to have COVID-19, we encourage you to stay home, seek professional medical advice, and, if advised by a healthcare practitioner, get tested. .

Seats

Tickets are required for admission. All tickets available for the 2021 Spring Game have been claimed. All tickets were distributed digitally.

Customers should make sure they have their tickets before arriving at TCF Bank Stadium. Fans without tickets should not plan to attend the Spring Game. No tickets will be distributed at TCF Bank Stadium on match day.

Groups of 2 or 4 places will be physically separated from other groups. Seating groups cannot be separated and only one fireplace is allowed in a single basket. Each order will be limited to 4 tickets each. Fans should book their own tickets for the match and provide specific contact information when ordering.

No re-entry is allowed for events at TCF Bank Stadium, including the Spring 2021 match.

What to bring and leave at home

All fans will be required to bring and wear an approved face cover inside the stadium. Additional information on acceptable masks and procedures can be found here →

For the 2021 spring match, the TCF Bank Stadium will have a NO BAG Politics. Fans must not bring handbags or bags to the stadium as they will not be allowed to enter. Please leave your purses and bags when you come to campus. No bag checks will be provided at the Spring Game. No outside food or drink will be allowed.

All fans are again encouraged to decorate an oar and bring it to the Spring Game. A collection point will be located outside the stadium on the Tribal Nations Plaza. Hundreds of custom oars have been decorated by Gopher fans and are prominently displayed in the tunnel the team descends before matches. These are the last images the Gophers see before entering the field and serve as a way to connect the community and state with Gopher football.

The football team will also be hosting a diaper drive to benefit the Diaper Bank of Minnesota. Fans are asked to drop diapers outside the stadium in Tribal Nations Plaza. All diapers will then be donated to local families in Minnesota who are struggling to afford diapers for their babies.

Parking and transportation / Tailgating

Public parking is available on the grounds surrounding the TCF Bank Stadium and throughout the campus. Additional information on parking spaces and prices can be found here →

If you are taking the light rail to TCF Bank Stadium, please allow extra time as Metro Transit has implemented a capacity limit of 33 passengers per light car. More information on Metro Transit schedules and policies can be found here →

Tailgating will not be allowed on University property for the Spring 2021 game. The prizes will open at 10 a.m. on May 1, 1 hour before the start of the Spring Game. The University’s no-threading policy for the Spring 2021 game prohibits the use of tents and / or structures, the preparation and / or service of food or drink, the consumption or distribution of alcohol and / or the gathering of more than one household on University property.
Application protocols will be in place to combat violators of this policy.

Fan conduct

We ask for everyone’s help to ensure a safe and enjoyable event. If you need help on game day, or if you have concerns about others adhering to the policies outlined in this post, the customer service staff in the lobby are here to help.

Masks: Fans are required to wear face coverings inside college venues, unless eating or drinking at their seat location. No exceptions will be made to this policy.

Hand washing: Fans are encouraged to properly wash their hands for at least 20 seconds after touching common surfaces or using the toilet.

Physical distancing: Fans are encouraged to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet between other groups of people in attendance. We ask for your help in holding each other accountable.

Dos and Don’ts

  • Must completely cover the nose and mouth
  • Tight but comfortably fit against the side of the face
  • Be secure with ties or earrings
  • Include multiple layers of fabric
  • Allow unrestricted breathing
  • Can be machine washed and dried without damage or change in shape
  • The face cover must not have an exhalation valve
  • Face shields without a face shield are not permitted as a suitable face covering

Note: Gaiters are not as effective as a cloth mask.

Golden Gopher Fan Shop

The Golden Gopher Fan Shop, Minnesota’s officially licensed clothing supplier, will have kiosks located throughout TCF Bank Stadium in the Main Lobby. All sales will be cashless. Fans can also purchase official University of Minnesota apparel by visiting shop.gophersports.com.

Concessions

No outside food and drink will be allowed in the stadium. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at various concession stands. Pre-packaged foods and designated pickup areas will be located in the main lobby. Food and beverages must be consumed in the seats assigned to you, no food or drink may be consumed in the lobby. All sales will be cashless.
